O.F.G. Radio: Episode #1

my first podcast!!! i threw this together in a hurry, having never used the software before, so i apologize if the mixing is a little shoddy and my comments in between songs are a little scarce. with this one, i was basically just making sure that i knew, generally, what i was doing. and i think i do. for the most part. so i promise better things in the future. AND THEMES!! 60s psychedelic, 70s dance, 80s power pop, 90s rap, 00s rock. who knows. i like great music, so it should be fine. i can only promise that each week i'll include songs that i genuinely really enjoy. as my homeboys sum 41 would say: ALL KILLER NO FILLER. except that i hope to deliver better on that promise than they did.

anyway, download the mp3 file below and play it in your itunes or ipod or other mp3 player of choice that doesn't start with the letter i!!! and please give me any feedback or suggestions you have. i'm new at this. don't hold back. i can take it.

  1. Who ever thought that this guy would ever grow up to be a famous rapper?

  2. Also: Loved the podcast. Great music. I'm really into Fuck Buttons right now, and that Fever Ray remix was great. I didn't check the tracklist while it was playing, but the long end drone made me think of the Fuck Buttons. Lo and behold.

I totally agree about the iPod thing. I used to feel really subconscious about it when I rode the subway in Chicago and listening to something "soft" like Mates of State or New Pornos.

  3. i know. in the example i used... it's not like i even need to be listening to something like wu-tang or biggie or whatever. something like the strokes or mclusky or david bowie would be fine. i mean it's not a race thing at all. but "the pains of being pure at heart"? come on.

and i forgot that rollie profile existed. the internet is the best thing.

  4. I actually e-mailed him that a few months back. He expressed an understandable degree of amusement and embarrassment.

I think that applies for pretty much everyone who spent a few years on IRC. Myself included.
